Dental Implants

Missing teeth can affect your self-confidence and make everyday activities like smiling, eating and talking uncomfortable. But same-day dental implants can permanently restore your smile and give you the confidence boost you deserve.

What are Implants?

If you have broken, damaged or lost teeth, dental implants can permanently restore your smile with replacement tooth roots and crowns that look and feel natural. Dental implants have come such a long way in recent years that only your dentist will be able to tell the difference between your replacement teeth and natural teeth.

And at Tooth Doctor, we have the knowledge and experience to achieve outstanding results with dental implants. Whether you need to replace one or several teeth, we can restore your smile to perfection.

Why Book Your Dental Implant Treatment with Tooth Doctor?

If you have damaged or missing teeth, we’re here to help. Our knowledgeable and experienced dentists always achieve outstanding results and will put your nerves at ease by making you as comfortable as possible.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are metal frames that are inserted into your jawbone to replace your natural tooth root. The implants are made with metal that fuses with your bone (such as titanium — the most biocompatible metal).

After the implant has fused with your jawbone, it is just as strong as a natural tooth root, so it can provide stable support for a replacement tooth or even multiple teeth. Crowns, dentures and bridges can all be mounted to implants.

How long does the treatment take?

Your Tooth Doctor dentist will assess your case during your free consultation. If the treatment is straightforward, it can be a little as eight to ten weeks from placement of the implant to fit of the final crown. However, sometimes treatment can take longer depending on the level of complexity of your case, with some patients not finishing for up to a year.

Single Tooth Replacement

A single missing tooth can be replaced by a dental implant attached to a crown, giving you the look and feel of a natural tooth.

Multi-tooth Dental Implants

If you need to replace multiple teeth, implants will mimic the natural root of the tooth, whilst keeping your adjacent teeth and jaw bone healthy.

Implant Supported Dentures

Unsupported dentures can be a cause of discomfort or embarrassment. Dental implants can be attached to your removable dentures to secure them and give you the confidence to eat, speak and smile.

The Dental Implant Treatment in 5 Simple Steps

1

Free Dental Implant Consultation

We offer free dental implant consultations at both our Thurrock and Basildon dental practices.

During this appointment, one of our friendly dentists will take a look at your teeth and gums to determine whether dental implants are the right treatment for you.

2

Customised Treatment Plan

Next, we’ll take a Cone Beam CT (CBCT) scan to create a detailed 3D digital image of your mouth, which we’ll use to create a customised treatment plan for you.

Using this image, we’ll be able to evaluate the condition of your nerve pathways and jawbone and plan the best site for dental implants.

3

Professional Dental Cleaning

Before fitting your dental implants, we need to make sure your teeth and gums are as clean and healthy as possible.

We’ll carry out a prophylactic dental clean to remove any bacteria and plaque from your teeth and gums.

4

Fitting the Dental Implant

Fitting your dental implant is a simple procedure. Your dentist will use local anaesthesia so you won’t be in any pain. They may also sedate you if you’re particularly nervous or you require extractions and bone augmentation.

With same-day implants, your dentist will fit both the metal frame and the false tooth or teeth in the same sitting.

5

Enjoy Your New Site

With same-day implants, you’ll be ready to show off your smile as soon as the day after your implant procedure. Your dentist will advise you on how best to care for your implants post-treatment and which medication to take.

Simply stick to your post-treatment care routine and enjoy your stunning new teeth!
